Easy administration

Administrators can download, install and configure Kerio MailServer in minutes. Installation does not require a server-based operating system.

Kerio MailServer can be used either as an intranet or Internet mail server. Therefore Kerio MailServer works with dial-up (and supports email delivery scheduling), cable or leased lines, or can be installed as a hosted service at company's ISP.

Two administration interfaces
Kerio MailServer comes with two administration interfaces:

  • Kerio Administration Console
  • Kerio Web Administration

Configuration Wizard
All versions of Kerio MailServer come with a wizard for setting up basic features such as the administrative account, the primary domain, and the location of the store directory.

Easy deployment
Kerio's Windows applications are packaged with MSI installers, making deployment faster and easier through Active Directory or third party software deployment tools.

Kerio Administration Console
Kerio Administration Console gives administrators full access to all settings of Kerio MailServer. Remote administration is enabled via an encrypted channel.

Kerio Administration Console for Kerio MailServer is a separate application, which can be installed on any supported operating system. Any Kerio MailServer user may be given administrative access.

Virtually any setting can be configured locally, or remotely using the Administration Console.

Kerio MailServer can manage several independent domains, which can be either local or forwarded domains.

An administrator can delegate access rights to users who will then be allowed to use Kerio Web Administration to manage user accounts in a particular domain.

Kerio Web Administration
Simple Kerio Web Administration allows non-technical people to manage users and aliases in their domain from a browser. Unlike the full-featured Kerio Administration Console, Kerio Web Administration cannot modify any other settings, and users can only change or view the settings of their own domain.

Mail backup at the server
Kerio Mail Server can make backup copies of all email (both incoming and outgoing), contacts and calendars. The backup copy can be stored in its own directory or on any other networked server. In the event of data loss at an individual workstation or drive failure on the server, all email and groupware data is recoverable.

Self-contained services
All services within Kerio MailServer are self contained, meaning it has no dependencies on other services which may be pre-installed with the operating system.

Service management
On all supported operating systems Kerio MailServer installs as a system service, meaning it will start each time the operating system is loaded.

The Windows and Mac versions of Kerio MailServer include an engine monitor utility, which is a graphical interface for stopping or starting the Kerio MailServer service.

Additional benefits
Import of users from a text file
Support for NT domain and Active Directory authentication
Scheduling of the sending and downloading of email
